New Year’s Resolution Round-Up - 3 Months Later

The Good:

  • Pay off current (slight) credit card debt by April 1 July 1.  Taking longer than I had hoped, but I’m still chugging away.
    • 12/31: ~$7k
    • 1/31: ~$4.8k
    • 2/28: ~$4.3k (thanks for nothing, washer/dryer)
    • 3/31: ~$1.9k
  • Put away at least 1 month’s salary in cash-on-hand.  1 month’s net income is sitting in ING in my “Rainy Day” fund.  For a “Pass +” I’m going to try to get 1 month’s gross tucked away.
  • Contribute $20 / month to a worthy, off-beat charity.  Suggestions are welcome.
  • Move all my business and personal contact information into one place.  Keep it up to date.  Moved all my contact information to a combo of Plaxo and Outlook.  Need to figure out how to populate my cell phone w/out resorting to the low-tech option of typing all those numbers in.
  • Reduce (or at least don’t increase) stress level of fiance during marriage planning process.  I think I’m doing a pretty good job here.  We’ll see what happens as the big day approaches.
  • Drive the speed limit, no speeding tickets. Been setting the cruise control and driving the speed limit (which sucks).  No tickets yet.
  • Improve golf game enough to be a non-embarrassment to the fiancee.  Been hitting the shit out of the ball at the range.  Hopefully I’ll be able to take it to the golf course in the next few weeks.  Target: 3 sub-100 rounds before the honeymoon.

The Not-So-Good:

  • Get down to a fighting weight of 210 lbs by Memorial Day.  Being lazy and prone to procrastination, this one clearly needs some sub-goals:
    • 1/6 (start): 240.3 lbs
    • End of January: 237.8
    • End of February: 228 lbs (Actual 228.6)
    • End of March: 221 lbs (Actual 227.1)
    • End of April: 215 219 lbs
    • End of May: 210 lbs
  • Become able to do 100 push ups.
    • January: Maxed out at 30
    • February: Not a whole lot of progress.  Still at 30.
    • March: Haven’t done anything.  If I don’t get moving on this in April, this one moves to the “Fail” bin.
  • Continue fat blogging.  Anyone else notice a pattern of weight-loss related failure?

The Bad:

  • Get PMP Certification.  No action here, yet.
  • Acquire 1 useful skill (2nd time’s the charm).  Suggestions from my 3 readers are welcome.

The On-Hold:

  • Maintain said fighting weight through Thanksgiving. ON HOLD until I reach fighting weight.
  • Maintain debt-free (other than mortgage) status through Xmas 2009. ON HOLD until I pay off credit card debt.
  • Tile the bathrooms, foyer, and kitchen. ON HOLD until I get my tax return finish paying down credit cards and save up enough.  Depending on my future living situation, I may nix this one.  We shall see.
