2 months in:

  • Get down to a fighting weight of 210 lbs by Memorial Day. IN PROGRESS.
    • Being lazy and prone to procrastination, this one clearly needs some sub-goals:
      • 1/6 (start): 240.3 lbs
      • End of January: 237.8
      • End of February: 228 lbs (Actual 228.6)
      • End of March: 221 lbs
      • End of April: 215 lbs
      • End of May: 210 lbs
  • Maintain said fighting weight through Thanksgiving. ON HOLD until I reach fighting weight.
  • Get PMP Certification.  FAIL. No action here, yet.
  • Pay off current (slight) credit card debt by April 1. IN PROGRESS. As an added incentive, I am not going to allow myself to play w/ my tax return money until the credit card balances are nixed.  This may take longer than 4/1.  Alas.
    • 12/31: ~$7k
    • 1/31: ~$4.8k
    • 2/28: ~$4.3k (thanks for nothing, washer/dryer)
  • Maintain debt-free (other than mortgage) status through Xmas 2009. ON HOLD until I pay off credit card debt.
  • Put away at least 1 month’s salary in cash-on-hand.  PASS.  1 month’s net salary is sitting in ING in my “Rainy Day” fund.  Tax returns are the shizz.  For a “Pass +” I’m going to try to get 1 month’s gross tucked away.
  • Become able to do 100 push ups. IN PROGRESS.
    • January: Maxed out at 30
    • February: Not a whole lot of progress.  Still at 30.
  • Reduce (or at least don’t increase) stress level of fiance during marriage planning process. PASS
  • Contribute $20 / month to a worthy, off-beat charity.  Suggestions are welcome.  PASS
  • Tile the bathrooms, foyer, and kitchen. ON HOLD until I get my tax return finish paying down credit cards and save up enough.  Getting an estimate couldn’t hurt though.
  • Drive the speed limit, no speeding tickets. PASS - Been setting the cruise control and driving the speed limit (which sucks).  No tickets yet.
  • Acquire 1 useful skill (2nd time’s the charm). FAIL. No action here, yet.
  • Continue fat blogging. (SORT OF) PASS.
  • Move all my business and personal contact information into one place.  Keep it up to date.  IN PROGRESS.  Moving all my contact information to a combo of Plaxo and Outlook.
  • Improve golf game enough to be a non-embarrassment to the fiancee.  ON HOLD until it stops snowing.
  • Good work on the weight loss. I'm glad to see you're still making progress. The blogging updates sometimes leave things to be desired though.

I would be very happy if your charity donation was a sponsorship of my Relay for Life team. I'll send you the info.
  • Done. Now I don't have to find one.

Relay for Life better not involve protecting the unborn. You know how I dislike them.
  • Its a cancer fundraiser that we do in honor of Nickie's sister, and now my dad. The money goes to research in the hope of finding cures for cancer. I know you hate the unborn, but you do love science.
  • I do love science. If you post the link here, I'll be able to find it at the end of the month.
  • Whole Foods would appreciate it if your charity donation went to their underprivileged women owned businesses in foreign countries. Tell them I sent you so they stop bothering me about it.
  • How do underprivileged women own businesses? I'm an over-privileged man and I don't have a business.
  • They live in foreign countries and sell fruit or homemade clothing or something.
I'm sure you could open a similar business in the US....
